House Cleaning
Keeping the home environment clean and safe is often overlooked when people become frail, ill or need help following time in hospital. Sometimes the time and energy needed for house cleaning could be used to improve quality of life through other activities.
80% of requests for home support – received by Focus Healthcare – are for house cleaning.
Focus Healthcare employs Home Support Workers with experience in domestic cleaning and current police clearances. Their education and training prepares them to provide a friendly and efficient service: keeping costs down while ensuring that the agreed cleaning services provide high quality results. For example, we provide:
- Kitchen, bathroom, laundry and toilet cleaning (wet/cooking areas)
- Vacuuming
Moving heavy furniture requires two staff and notification is required for planning
- Damp dusting
- Windows cleaning (inside and out)
Difficult / dangerous access e.g. upstairs outside windows or windows obstructed by obstacles – may require specialist equipment and skills.
- Help with laundry: washing, hanging out/bringing in and ironing
House cleaning is based on a careful assessment of the premises including a safety check and a review of preferred cleaning materials and equipment.
Cleaning priorities are agreed and documented, with special attention given to ensure that the service contributes to maintenance of a clean, pleasant and safe living environment.
