Home Support Services
One in eight people over the age of 70 receive home support services which help them manage in their own homes. It is a cheaper and nicer alternative to hospitalisation and delays entry to residential aged care. Research shows that people over 75 who have recently suffered a decrease in independence, have a chronic condition or who have been in hospital in the past 12 months are in greatest need of professional home support services.

For family and friends the convenience and security of using professionally trained and experienced carers:
- Reduces the pressure on them to provide these services themselves, freeing up that time for other more socially interesting and relevant activities.
- Ensures supervision and feedback is provided by Home Support Services staff.
