Nursing and Occupational Therapy services for members of Health Funds contracting with Focus Healthcare
If you are a member of a Health Fund that includes cover for home nursing and/or occupational therapy services as part of your Hospital Cover you can elect to be treated by Focus Healthcare as a private client.
If you elect to be treated privately, you are eligible to receive care in your home up to your benefit limit under the contract we have with your Fund. Contracts with different Funds do vary. Focus Healthcare staff can explain to you the services your Fund has contracted with us to provide.
If you elect to be treated privately (i.e. use your Private Health Insurance cover) we will ask you to:
- Consent to Focus Healthcare billing your Fund for your care in accordance with your health insurance coverage and our contract with your Fund.
- Sign a claim form as evidence to your Fund that you have been admitted to Focus Healthcare for nursing/personal care.
What happens when my benefit limit is reached?
Focus Healthcare is the private arm of RDNS. If you reach your maximum benefit limit set by your Fund, RDNS can continue to provide the care that you need according to RDNS service provision guidelines as a public patient and you will be invoiced by RDNS in accordance with our health service fee arrangement.
The current health service fee levels are $24 per 28 day billing period for pensioner concession card and health care card holders, and other people on low incomes and $48 for all other clients. The fee is payable by you but Fund members with Extras Cover may be eligible for a health service fee rebate from their Fund. Members will need to check with their Fund.
What happens if I elect to be treated publicly on admission to RDNS?
RDNS will provide the care that you need according to RDNS service provision guidelines as a public client and you will be invoiced by RDNS in accordance with our health service fee arrangement as outlined above. The fee is payable by you but Fund members with Extras Cover may be eligible for a health service fee rebate from their Fund. Members will need to check with their Fund.
