D.V.A. / War Veterans
Focus Healthcare is contracted with DVA to provide War Veterans with community nursing, occupational therapy and homecare services.
DVA provides entitled persons with access to a range of quality health care and related services, including community nursing services, at DVA’s expense.
- If you have a Gold Card DVA will pay for your nursing and occupational therapy services, to meet a clinical need. If you have a White Card DVA will pay for nursing and occupational therapy services, to meet a clinical need - for conditions accepted by DVA.
- The Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program provides low level home care services to eligible veterans and war widows and widowers.
In each case War Veterans must be referred to Focus Healthcare by a person or agency authorised by DVA to make referrals for that service.
Rates and Charges
DVA pays for all care provided under the Community Nursing and Occupational Therapy programs. There is no ‘gap’ payable.
People receiving services under the Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program may be charged a small contribution fee.
Detailed information on all of these services can be found online at the DVA website www.dva.gov.au. Most hospitals and health professionals can also provide a guide to your eligibility under the various DVA funded health schemes
